Indoor garden
The main greenhouse has undergone major changes since 2018. Parts of the garden have been changed to create cozy spots for enjoying a cup of coffee or tea. We have tended, documented, and transplanted our plants as well as received new ones. Now we a have large greenhouse and a separate desert section. You can find all kinds of species here.
We have a big aquarium with different kinds of fish.
Throughout the whole premises, we have a variety of artworks and installations to show you. They are replaced by new ones from time to time, so there will always be something new to see!
We ask all customers to respect the plants, trees, and butterflies. Please don’t damage anything and don’t climb into the trees. Don’t touch the butterflies, but if one should land on you, keep still and enjoy the mesmerizing, beautiful creature until it flies away. Don’t touch the feeding platforms. Parents are always responsible for the damage cost by their children, so please keep an eye on your little ones.

Our outdoor garden is around 4.5 hectare area, includes 255 species documented at the moment, and this number is still counting.
We have been restaurating and updating the gardens since 2018 a lot. There are multiple water elements, a kitchen garden and in 2019 we built a unique sensory garden to tickle all your senses. Throughout the seasons there’s art everywhere; at the end of the fall, our main event is VisualFestival. Where different art forms come together forming an amazing entity. Make sure to check our event- page to find out when the festival takes place.
Botania outdoor garden is surrounded by Linnunlahti walking trails and the Arboretum Tree Species park and the beaches of Pyhäselkä are right next to our garden. Clean nature, water the seasons and silence are among our greatest assets.
We ask all our visitors to respect the trees and plants in our gardens. Please don’t climb the trees or damage the environment. You can find bins in the garden where you can leave your trashes. We also wish to remind parents that they are responsible for all damage caused by their children so please keep an eye on your little ones.

Butterflies
Unfortunately due to ordering issues, we’re not able to have butterflies at the moment. We keep you up to date about the butterflies on social media and on the website. We have butterfly eggs and catarpillars on our bananaplants.
Because our garden is somewhat outdated, we can’t provide the perfect environment for the butterflies all year round. We’re working hard towards it. Please ask our staff for advice on how to spot butterflies.

Wintergarden
During the Dark Seasons our outdoor garden turns into a beautiful Wintergarden. The lit trees, ice and snow sculptures by master sculptors together with snow slides and castles built for children create a magical experience. Visualfestival, a unique art event in November precedes the winter garden.
